The Luxembourg-based subsidiary of CRÉDIT AGRICOLE bank is launching an internationalisation platform for start-ups in Luxembourg-City called Hub @ luxembourg. Forworx was asked to design a concept and create a space dedicated to start-ups supported by the Group.
Forworx developed a concept based on the idea of a park, which stays true to the "Villages by CA" network idea, and uses gravel paths leading to different strategic areas of the project (land and grass). Linking the different activities is an oak tree in the middle[er1] of the space, a key element of the park and a great place to meet.
This is how a 200m² space, Hub @ luxembourg allows hosted start-ups to develop their ideas. The communal spaces are flexible and allow co-workers to make spaces their own, to create meeting rooms that allow more or less privacy. The goals of the Hub @ Luxembourg are to increase the feeling of sharing and togetherness, and encourage emulation and synergies. A meeting room, a lounge, and two communal spaces are strategically distributed around the floor to serve different activities. Phone boxes are set up at each end of the office so people can be away from the more active poles. The space also allows each person to have a locker, and the lounge area is under the tree, the pillar of the Hub.
To design this space, Forworx used the layout of the carpet, that defines gravel areas and outlines green spaces, and uses pathways linking the different areas. The furniture in the lounge area and the floor surface feel like an office in a home. The tree, which is made of MDF, spans the central area of the office space, in neutral colours, so as not to detract from the soothing, refreshing and invigorating green color associated with the natural world.
Hub @ luxembourg is located in the House of Startups, on the 2nd floor of ‘Le Dôme’ building, near Luxembourg train station.
